The OntoBroker is the most comprehensive and fastest implementation of  highly scalable Semantic Web middleware. It is the only commercial inference machine, which supports all W3C Semantic Web recommendations. These are RDF(S), OWL, SPARQL, RIF and ObjectLogic. The new ObjectLogic is best of breed of RDF, OWL and F-Logic concerning the expressive power and evaluation performance.

Based on the OntoBroker, ontology-based applications can be developed which offer the following advantages among others:

  • shared meaning (semantics) of information in a knowledge model
  • capturing of complex relationships
  • integration of heterogeneous data sources

 

The know-how and the business logic can thereby be modeled separately from the execution logic. Users can flexibly adapt and extend the logic. When used systematically, ontologies form a conceptual semantic layer. This contains relevant know-how of an area or enterprise and can be accessed from all applications.
