The objective of the Knowledge Management Department was to visualize and utilize existing know-how and the expertise of the employees of all branch-offices. The goal was to avoid redundant work in the bidding and consulting processes, thus to increase the efficiency of sales and consulting.
The developed Portal "Findus" consists of a semantic search component, which enables a fast, intuitive and context specific access from information from the underlying document management system Livelink and from the Intranet, as well as an editorial environment, which enables the continuous improvement and maintenance of the knowledge model as well as the semi-automatic annotation of the documents with the concepts of the ontology.
